The newest update has pushed a lot of improvements for the map screen on mobile phones, especially in landscape mode. While some of the bigger phones had large screens so that all of the UI was visible, on smaller phones, like on the iPhone SE, some of the buttons were covered.

In the newest update, the menu bar is automatically hidden in landscape mode on mobile devices, as well as all the buttons are dynamically reorganised depending on the device’s size.

Moreover many fixes related to iPhone’s Safari browser have been implemented, making sure that the UI is never covered by the address bar or tab bar, and the buttons always stay visible. This was quite tricky to get right, so if you encounter any bugs or UI problems related to the changes, please share it in the forums.

Another new feature is support for geolocation control in embeds. By enabling this feature, your users will be able to click the small circle button in the lower left corner and the map will instantly show their positions even when viewing an embedded map on a website.

Share your map!

While MapHub is a small community and the website has no list of all public maps, there is a new thread in the forums where some of us have shared a map we created. If you are interested to know how others are using MapHub or would like to share your map and receive some feedback, feel free to do so!
